If the other side has the same determination and political will as we have, the November 25 meeting in Berlin could yield results, said the President of the Republic of Cyprus, Nicos Anastasiades.
Speaking to reporters in Limassol, the President of Cyprus stated that UN Secretary-General’s Special Representative for Cyprus Jane Hole Lute “is currently expected to visit Cyprus, possibly on 15 November, and her meeting with me is set for 16 November at 6.30pm. It is a preparation for the meeting with the UN Secretary-General in Berlin on 25 November”.
Asked if he is optimistic about the 25 November meeting, President Anastasiades said “I hope that, if the other side has the same determination and political will as we have, (the meeting) could yield results”.
Finally, in a journalist’s remark that there is no cooperation from Ankara, the President of the Republic said that “I will first inform the National Council of the information we have and then public statements will be made if necessary”.
