President Anastasiades departs for Brussels for the European Council Summit

President of the Republic of Cyprus Nicos Anastasiades leaves tomorrow morning for Brussels, where he will participate in the works of the European Heads of State Council Summit to be held on 19 and 20 October.

The issues to be discussed in the Council are Migration, Digital Europe, Defence, the EU’s External Relations, and the Future of Europe.

A working dinner of the Heads of State and Government of the EU members to be held on 19 October will focus on the range of EU-Turkey relations.

Moreover, on the sidelines of the Council’s works, President Anastasiades will have a meeting with the Greek Prime Minister, Alexis Tsipras, the President of the European Parliament, Antonio Tajani, as well as other bilateral contacts with Heads of State or Government of the EU.

The President of the Republic, accompanied by Government Spokesman Nikos Christodoulides, will return to Cyprus on 20 October./IBNA
