Prime Minister Sali Berisha was in Elbasan today where he had a meeting with farmers and representatives of the agricultural business.
During his speech, Berisha said that over 60% of the budget has been allocated for road infrastructure, as more roads mean more development, while adding that agriculture is crucial to development.
Berisha said that rural areas will have the same infrastructure as urban areas, where he added that in the future there will be more grants for farmers.
According to him, the value of subsidies will amount to 156 million USD and stressed that agriculture has a key role for development.
“We will do everything to reduce the cost of production for you. We will make cash refunds. We will refund excise, your farming expenses and the materials that you need for them. We have a very important scheme to support you. The next four years will be the years of irrigation. We have spent billions and billions and we got Albania on its way to recovery”, declared Berisha.
PM Berisha also added that within autumn there will be a new project of irrigation, starting with 60 million Euros. Berisha said that this project will be at the focus of the government in the next four years. /ibna/
