Premier Berisha launches the projects for a modern Tirana

The government is holding a meeting today in order to take several important decisions about the infrastructure of the country and that of Tirana in particular.

At the start of the meeting, Prime Minister Sali Berisha announced the decision for the construction of the northern boulevard of Tirana, the removal of the train station to another location and the construction of the train passengers’ terminal.

“This meeting addresses important issues that relate to Tirana. The government decides to make several major changes in the capital. We will decide today the contractor which will implement the project for the boulevard of Tirana, the removal of the train station to another location and the construction of the passenger terminal. In a short period of time, cooperation between the city hall of Tirana and the government enabled the launch of projects which seal the 21st century Tirana”, said Berisha.

Berisha also launched accusations against the current head of the opposition and former mayor of Tirana, Edi Rama.

“I used to feel sorry when he was mayor of Tirana and when he used to say that the government didn’t help him at a time when the government not only used to help him, but the government also secured a loan for the Ring Road of the city by the European Bank. But, Rama didn’t accept this cooperation”, said Berisha.

Berisha further added that Tirana will be the symbol of our nation. “With these great projects and after the completion of the works by the river, Tirana will be more beautiful. These projects will open thousands of jobs”, added Berisha.

The Albanian PM also announced the reduction by half of all taxes for the industry of tourism. “We keep our promises. Tourism is a very important sector of the economy and interest on Albania is growing. Albania is one of the 10 countries with the fastest growth in tourism and we will do everything to grow it even more”, declared the MP. /ibna/
