The construction of the 400 KW power line between Kosovo and Albania is going well and so far, one third of the work has been completed.

This was declared today by the minister of Economic Development of Kosovo, Blerand Stavileci, during a visit to Kosova B” thermal power plant in Obilic, along with the Albanian Minister of Energy and Industry, Damian Gjiknuri.

Stavileci said that although time has been lost in starting construction works, efforts are being made to make up for it and finalize the project according to plans.

According to him, this project is expected to be finalized next year.

He considered this an energy highway between the two countries. Stavileci also said that there are plans to build a new 100 KW line between Dragash and Kukes.

Minister Gjiknuri said that both countries have challenges as far as energy security is concerned, but once it’s finalized, then there will be more stability in power supply.

He also said that this line will be harmonized with joint policies and strategies.

The 400 KW line project is expected to complete connection lines with all neighboring countries. The line being built with Albania is considered to be very important. /ibna/
