Power cuts continue even after the privatization

Pristina, October 29, 2013

In spite of the privatization of the distribution system of power supply, Kosovo is suffering power cuts. Power cuts, which had reduced significantly, have returned once again in the country. According to the privatizing company, KEDS, this has taken place following the fall of B2 block of thermal power station “Kosova B”.

This is the third case in the recent weeks, when there are urgent stops of thermal power station blocks and a lack of import by KEDS.

“Based on the information received by Kosovo Power Corporation, this block will be reactivated at the end of the week. KPC has  informed us that this generating unit in Kosova B thermal power station will resume production of power supply until the end of this week”, said Guri Shkodra, responsible for public relations at KEDS.

According to him, KEDS is doing everything to secure imports of power supply as soon as possible. /ibna/
