As of today (June 4), Skopje will host the “Pop Up Cinema” film festival, organized by the American Embassy.
In the framework of this festival, each week in June, American films will be shown in different regions of Skopje. Through four movies that convey messages of tolerance and friendship, the festival will point out the power of diversity.
The festival will kick off tonight in the “Nikola Karev” school with a film which talks about the members of a high school American football team who learn how to put their differences aside and work together as a team.
Along with the film, the public will also be able to win a prize offered by the Embassy in the ball throwing contention.
On June 11, the scenario changes and the festival moves to “Menada” club, where a classic American movie on a family in the ‘60s, which faces constantly changing society’s expectations, will be shown.
On June 18, Skopje will be able to enjoy cinema in open air in the car park situated between the Park of the city and “Aleksandar Palace” hotel, where the film festival will show a beautiful urban drama with one of the most prominent actors and directors from Hollywood. The movies will be shown free of charge and will be open for the public. /ibna/
