In Albania, it’s almost impossible for the poor to attend higher education. Such fact is confirmed by the report dubbed “Inequality in Southeast Europe”, published by the German foundation, Friedrich Ebert.
According to this report, 59% of those who attend higher education in Albania belong to the rich classes, while only 1% belongs to the poor classes.
With this percentage, Albania is considered to be the country that offers very few opportunities for poor people to attend higher education, in comparison to other countries of the region. According to the report, poor access to quality education is a real threat for equality in the region. /ibna/
