Polls in FYROM indicate an advantage of governing coalition parties

VRMO-DPMNE presidential nominee who is running for a second term in office, George Ivanov, enjoys a higher support than other presidential nominees for the April 13 presidential elections.

This is the conclusion of the poll conducted by the Institute for Political Studies in Skopje (IPIS), reports IBNA.

According to this study, as far as parliamentary elections are concerned, prime minister and leader of VMRO-DPMNE, Nikola Gruevski enjoys the biggest support.

29,3% of respondents have declared that they would vote for George Ivanov, 19,4% for the candidate of the Macedonian opposition, Stevo Pendarovski, 6,1% for the candidate of the Albanian Democratic Party (PDSH) and 1,5% for the candidate of a small party (GROM), Zoran Poposki.

Meanwhile, as far as general elections are concerned, the biggest number of respondents have declared that they would vote for the biggest Macedonian party in power, VMRO-DPMNE with 24,2%, while 17,4% have declared that they would vote for the opposition Macedonian party, LSDM.

As far as Albanian parties are concerned, 6.9% of the respondents would vote for the Democratic Union for Integration (BDI) and 3,9% for PDSH and 1,2% for National Democratic Renaissance (RDK).

Over 24% of respondents have claimed that they are still unsure which political party they will vote for.

Departing prime minister and leader of VMRO-DPMNE, Nikola Gruevski enjoys the biggest support according to this poll. 24,3% of respondents have declared that they support him among all other politicians.

Zoran Zaev, leader of LSDM is supported by 8,3% of respondents, Ali Ahmeti, leader of BDI is supported by 7,1% of respondents and leader of PDSH, Menduh Thaci is supported by 4% of respondents.

The survey conducted by IPIS through the telephone lasted from March 4 to March 7, 2014. The number of respondents from all over the country was 1.113. /ibna/
