A regular monthly poll by the National Statistical Institute (NSI) found the business climate in Bulgaria in April 2019 improved with comparison with March.
In March and February, the monthly polls had found the business climate in Bulgaria largely unchanged. In January, the business climate was seen as slightly improved compared with December.
The NSI said on April 30 that the business climate indicator increased by 1.9 percentage points compared with March, with improvements in the business conjunctures in industry, construction and the service sector, while in the retail trade, it was about the same as the previous month.
The indicator for industry was up by two percentage points, with managers in the sector more optimistic about the coming six months, the NSI said.
In the construction sector, the indicator increased by 1.3 percentage points, with managers having a more positive view about the current situation of their enterprises, and favourable about the coming three months.
The indicator in the service sector was up by 3.4 percentage points, boosted by managers’ view of the current situation of their businesses, and more optimistic about current and expected demand for services.
In the retail trade, the indicator was largely unchanged, while retailers’ assessments about their current situation and about the next six months remained favourable, the NSI said./ibna
