Political instability has a negative effect on the economy. The Governor of the Bank of Albania, Gent Sejko has commented the current situation in the country, calling for stability as the only way for the continuation of economic reforms.
“Of course, every political crisis would have its effects on economy. The Central Bank is interested to see political stability in order for the economy, reforms and economic growth in the country to continue”, governor Sejko said.
The country has recently seen a number of protests organized by the right wing opposition, while on Thursday, opposition MPs signed their resignation from parliament as a means to put pressure on the government to resign and for early elections to be announced. /ibna/
