Ambassador of the USA, Great Britain and Germany, Tracey Ann Jacobson, Ian Cliff and Peter Blomeyer have met today (17.06) with departing prime minister Hashim Thaci.
After the three separate meetings, Thaci’s cabinet has issued a press release stating that the new institutions will be formed once the results of the elections are certified.
It seems that the possibility for extraordinary elections is being ruled out, in spite of the difficulties.
“Prime minister Thaci thanked the American ambassador for the great help given by the staff of this embassy during this process. Prime minister Thaci said that after the certification of the final results by the Central Election Commission, immediate political action will be taken in line with the laws and constitution for the formation of new and credible institutions according to the will of the citizens expressed in the June elections”, reads the statement.
“In the framework of these regular weekly meetings, prime minister of Kosovo, Hashim Thaci also met today with the ambassador of United Kingdom, Mr. Ian Cliff and German ambassador, Mr. Peter Bomeyerme, with which he discussed about the successful completion of the elections and the formation of new credible institutions in line with the laws and constitution of Kosovo”, further reads the press release. /ibna/
