Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration, Fatmir Besimi, declared that the EU progress report on FYR Macedonia will depend on the results of the talks for the solution of the political crisis.
Besimi declared this during his tour in Brussels, where he held meetings with senior officials of the European Commission.
“In the meetings with EU senior officials, the main topic of discussions was the progress report and the process of talks which aim at overcoming the political crisis. Macedonia must implement the political agreement of June 2 and the package of reforms for the integration of the country in the EU. This will be reflected in the progress report”, said deputy Prime Minister Besimi after the meeting with the head of the EU Enlargement Directorate, Christian Danielson.
According to Besimi, Brussels expects the country to meet its obligations for the solution of the political crisis, because the process of integration may be at risk and the political crisis may be deepened.
Deputy Prime Minister, Besimi said that the EU said that its recommendation for FYROM to open accession talks will depend on the delivery of the June 2 agreement, which has recently been blocked following disagreements between political parties in relation to the implementation of several points of this agreement. /ibna/
