Governor of the State Bank (Bank of Macedonia), Dimitar Bogov declared that political instability which has been going on in the past three months, will have a negative impact in the economy of the country.
“Political instability may have a negative impact on the country’s economy in the long-run. We’re closely following domestic and external developments which are the main inputs for the development of the economy. Based on our information, the European economy is marking positive trends and this will have a direct impact on the growth of our exports and production, but on the other hand, we also have a political crisis, which if it continues, will seriously jeopardize our domestic economy”, declared the governor of the Central Bank, Dimitar Bogov.
According to him, the country is managing to maintain the currency rate, low deficit and low inflation. The head of the Central Bank has not been able to precise if the current developments will manage to preserve a 4,1% rate of economic growth. /ibna/
