Macedonian foreign minister, Nikola Poposki declared that the current political crisis is damaging the image of the country.
Poposki issued this declaration in a speech at the parliamentary foreign committee.
“This situation has a negative effect on the image of the country abroad. We must focus on our strategic objectives such as NATO and European Union. With this situation, we’re justifying the claims who have been blocking our Euro Atlantic integration for years”, declared minister Poposki.
Asked about the wiretapping scandal unveiled by the opposition, the Foreign minister declared that there must be a transparent procedure to shed light on this affair.
As far as relations with neighboring countries are concerned, Poposki considered them as very positive and he warned joint government meetings during this year with Kosovo, Montenegro and other neighboring countries. Commenting on the name dispute issue, the Foreign Minister underlined that Greece doesn’t have an honest approach in solving the name dispute.
“So far it has been seen that many governments have been changed in Greece, but there hasn’t been an honest approach on solving the name dispute”, declared Foreign Minister Nikola Poposki. /ibna/
