“Polip” literature festival will be opened today (16.05) in the Multimedia Center in Pristina until May 18.
In fact, Friday afternoon will see the promotion of the book “Dreams of love and death” by Philip David, author from Serbia, the work of which has been translated to Albanian by Smajl Smaka.
In the framework of the promotion of the book, there will also be a debate called “The surveillance of literature 1” with the participation of panelists: Visar Zhiti, Philip David and Smajl Smaka. The panel will be moderated by Adil Olluri.
The official opening of the festival will take place at 8 pm by the ambassador of Austria to Kosovo, Johann Brieger.
After this, the first evening of Polip will continue with readings of poetry and texts by participating authors such as: Eli Krasniqi from Kosovo, Philip David from Serbia, Visar Zhiti from Albania, Lisiana Demiraj from Albania and Vladimir Arsenijevic from Serbia.
The evening will be moderated by Jeton Neziraj and Sasha Ilic. After the reading, there will be a singing performance by Edona Reshitaj, which will accompany guests until midnight.
This edition of Polip will also be characterized by another three panels with topics such as: “What cannot be translated”, “Contemporary literature, theater and new political realities in the other EU”, “View on the future” Cultural cooperation between Pristina and Belgrade 1989-2014”. During the three nights of Polip, there will be readings by artists from Albania, Ukraine, Greece, FYR Macedonia, Bulgaria and Romania.
