Special units of the police of Kosovo have arrested today three people who are suspected of terrorism.
The arrests were carried out during an operation in the commune of Kacanik and that of the Han of Elez in southeastern Kosovo, around 80 km from Pristina.
Police have not issued any more details about this operation conducted by its unit against terrorism.
IBNA learns that on Thursday, police have raided in Han of Elez the house of a local resident, who was said to have been involved in the Syrian conflict.
Earlier this year, intelligence agencies have said that several hundreds of Albanians from Kosovo, Albania and FYR Macedonia may have gone to Syria to fight, while nobody has any accurate figures about them.
Parliament of Kosovo approved a bill in principle which prevents the involvement of the citizens of Kosovo in conflicts overseas.
Authorities have appealed for citizens not to be involved in the Syrian conflict, while this appeal has also been joined by the Islamic Community of Kosovo, according to which, the developments in the Middle East and especially in Syria, must not have an impact in the actions of believers in Kosovo, saying that this organization is against any involvement in this conflict. /ibna/
