A police fair opened for the first time in Albania. This fair moves throughout the entire south of the country, as an effort by police to be closer to the community and to promote its work.
Tens of thousands of tourists, Albanians and foreign, are visiting the fair booths in Himara, Vlora, Saranda, etc and checking out the weapons that State Police uses.
The booths exhibit weapons not only used by Police, but also by special forces such as RENEA (Armed Unit for Neutralization), FNSH (Rapid Intervention Forces) and the Moving Control Room.
State Police Commissioner, Haki Cako says that the fair “Open Days with State Police” focuses especially on foreign tourists and Albanians who live abroad and come for holidays.
“It is a very important moment for many Albanians who most of the year spends the year outside of Albania. They find a way to contact with their relatives, but also see and touch the security that the Ministry of Interior and State Police offers”.
The fair comes at a time when the opposition launches strong accusations against the Ministry of Interior and State Police. The intensification of drug traffic and the discovery of cannabis fields throughout the country, is seen by the opposition as a traffic protected by the state.
On the other hand, crimes against people have seen a serious increase recently. Many domestic crimes, robberies, murder attempts, are worrying people in many regions of Albania. /balkaneu.com/
