The Minister of Interior of FYROM and that of Albania, Flamur Noka were today in the border crossing point of “Qafë-Thanë” to inaugurate the Police Communication Center between the two countries.
The two ministers stressed that the opening of the joint Center for police cooperation is another step to stepping up cooperation between the police of FYR Macedonia and Albania.
“Such system will enable a better coordination of border services, because information which are relevant for their work and which resolve disputes will be exchanged in one place. With the opening of the Center of Communication we improve the movement of people and vehicles along with the intensification of communication between the two countries”, declared minister Jankulovska.
According to her Albanian counterpart, Flamur Noka, the opening of the Center reflects the intensification of relations between the respective ministries and countries in the fight against any sort of crime. Noka said that the opening of the Center is based on the Convention of Vienna for police cooperation of the southeastern Europe countries.
“In the sphere of police cooperation with Macedonia, we’re an example in the region. With the opening of the Center, efficiency of police services will increase and all this will assist to the improvement of good neighborly relations between Macedonia and Albania”, said Noka.
Jankulovska and Noka also signed a Memorandum of cooperation between the sectors for internal audit of the two ministries, while visiting the border crossing point of Xhepishtë-Trebishtë.
Border services in this border crossing point were launched on May 2 and up until today there have been 726 travelers, out of which 117 are from FYROM and 609 are foreign nationals. /ibna/
