The People’s Movement Party (PMP) will merge with the National Union for Romania’s Progress (UNPR), PMP leader Traian Basescu announced on Tuesday.
“We have completed a negotiation process, that has taken up two weeks, a merger process between the People’s Movement and the UNPR. (…) A merger will take place on Wednesday. On Wednesday, next week, we shall each have the merger congresses. The new party will be called the People’s Movement Party,” Traian Basescu pointed out.
