PM Zaev sends out messages of optimism

“Our country will make it. Macedonia will become member of the EU and NATO. We will always be Macedonians and we will speak the Macedonian language.” This was the message that was posted today on Facebook by FYROM’s PM, Zoran Zaev, following the failure of the talks concerning the referendum which is expected to be held on the issue of the name.

Yesterday, the leaders of the largest political parties in the country agreed on electing the members of the State Election Commission, the law regarding the financing of political parties and the law on the creation of a government of technocrats for the next elections. However, the sides could not come to an agreement about the referendum.  Zaev accused the leader of VMRO-DPMNE, Hristijan Mickoski that the latter does not wish for the country to become a member of NATO and EU.

Zaev warned that the referendum will be held with or without the participation of the opposition. PM Zaev is staying in Mostar, Bosnia and Herzegovina to participate in the Mostar Peace Connection prizes, awarded for contributions for peace in the region. /ibna/
