In the framework of an official visit to Tirana, British Minister of State for European Affairs, David Lidington, was received in a meeting by prime minister Edi Rama.
During this meeting, the two interlocutors praised the level of cooperation between the two countries and expressed their engagement for further cooperation on a technical level and in other levels, especially in strengthening rule of law.
As far as European perspective of Albania is concerned, Rama briefed minister Lidington about the reforms which have been undertaken, noting that although Albania was not granted the EU candidate status in December, the Albanian government remains committed to fulfill all priorities required in this process.
On his part, Lidington praised the work done so far by the Albanian government, reforms undertaken by it, while expressing the support of United Kingdom for the integration of Albania in the European Union. /ibna/
