Prime Minister of Kosovo, Ramush Haradinaj has met today with the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Federica Mogherini, to talk to her about Kosovo’s European perspective.
Ahead of the second meeting of the Stabilization and Association Council between Kosovo and the EU, Haradinaj told Mogherini that his government has sped up the process of European agenda reforms and the criteria set out by SAA.
He said that Kosovo is working hard to deliver the reforms that concern the rule of law, economic development, healthcare and education and that the country is aiming to become an EU member country at the end of 2018.
Haradinaj said that Kosovo is the only country in Europe where the visa regime still applies. He said that Kosovo has delivered its obligations for this process and said that the remaining criterion, which is the border deal with Montenegro, has started to be addressed.
Haradinaj also said that Kosovo is a factor of stability, which is showing its commitment for better neighborly relations, including Serbia, with which it is holding a dialogue to normalize the relations between the two countries. /balkaneu.com/
