The upward trend in passenger traffic at all airports in the first half of the year, during which handled they 20.1 million passengers, an increase of 8% compared with 2015, continues.
Specifically, according to statistics of the Civil Aviation Authority on airport traffic, in the first half of 2016 the total number of flights at Greek airports reached 189,008 (of which 89,343 internal and 99,665 external), showing an increase of 4,2% (+4.7% on domestic flights and +3.8% on international flights), compared to the same period of 2015 during which there were 181,352 flights.
The total number of passengers handled in the first half of 2016 reached 20,083,702 showing an increase of 8% compared to the same period of 2015 when 18,603,058 passengers were handled.
