The president of Kosovo, Atifete Jahjaga has launched today a new phase of meetings with political parties, in an attempt to find a solution for the current political crisis.
Jahjaga has initially met with the representatives of the Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK). After this meeting, the leader of PDK, Hashim Thaci said that this meeting is held in the framework of the meetings that the president is holding in order to form the institutions of Kosovo.
“It was a good meeting. We praise the engagement of president Jahjaga in finding a way to form the institutions of the country. PDK has made its positioning public: the will of the people must be respected and the rulings of the Constitutional Court must be complied with”, declared the leader of PDK.
Thaci said that he invites the political class to reflect and realize that agreement can only be achieved through communication.
“We call on all the political class to reflect in order to offer a solution through dialogue. An agreement is necessary to form the institutions”, said Thaci.
Asked if PDK will participate in the Thursday’s parliamentary session called by opposition bloc, Thaci gave the impression that the MPs of his party will not participate.
He said that they will only participate in those sessions called based on the parliament’s regulation. /ibna/
