Court of First Instance in Skopje decided to remand in custody the nine people arrested yesterday for participating in the fights in Syria and Iraq as part of ISIS, for a period of 30 days.

Meanwhile, charges have been pronounced against 27 other people who are accused for participating in terrorist acts and paramilitary formations.

Rexhep Memishi, an imam in the mosque of Skopje, is suspected to be the organizer of the group, which was recruiting young believers to fight alongside ISIS in Syria and Iraq.

10 people from the neighborhood where this imam preached, have died. Ministry of Interior said yesterday that there are over 110 nationals from FYROM who participate in the fights in Syria and Iraq alongside ISIS.

Meanwhile, yesterday’s operation has been praised by the USA through a statement issued by its embassy in Skopje. /ibna/
