At yesterday’s meeting with the President of the European Council, Charles Michel in Kiev, the President of North Macedonia, Stevo Pendarovski, reaffirmed the view that holding the first Intergovernmental Conference in the near future is a key priority for North Macedonia, stressing the need to the European Union to strengthen relations with the countries of the Western Balkans.
“President Pendarovski reaffirmed the position that bilateral issues should not be an obstacle to exploiting the progress of any country on the road to the European Union and that in this context a solution must be sought for our country,” the statement said. meeting, held during Stevo Pendarovski’s working visit to Ukraine on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the country’s independence.
According to the Office of the President of the Republic, at the meeting, the interlocutors exchanged views on the latest developments in the EU enlargement process, as well as on the progress of North Macedonia in key areas of reforms and the possibilities of holding the first intergovernmental conference.
