On the International Day of Peace, president of Kosovo, Hashim Thaçi said that nations who have seen wars know the importance of peace.
He said that understanding and cooperation are universal values.
“Today, the entire world marks the International Day of Peace. Nations who have experienced war know the importance of peace. Kosovo has experienced both. We know that peace becomes harder than war”, Thaci declared.
On Wednesday, Kosovo’s PM, Ramush Haradinaj declared that “borders are decided by military boots and strength”.
“Those who are in favour of war, let them speak of war”, Thaçi said in response to the declaration made by the Prime Minister.
This spat between the leaders of these two institutions has started with the debate over the possibility of border changes which would enable a deal between Kosovo and Serbia.
Thaçi’s ideas are strongly contested by the opposition, while Self Determination Party has also warned protests. /ibna/
