In today’s constitutive session, Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK) could not secure 61 votes to elect the speaker of parliament.
MP and vice chairman of PDK, Hajredin Kuci has nominated Arsim Bajrami for speaker of parliament, demanding MPs to vote him.
But, when the temporary speaker of parliament, Flora Brovina has put the nomination for voting, Bajrami didn’t obtain the necessary votes.
He received 44 votes in favor, 61 against and 11 abstains. Meanwhile, the temporary speaker, Flora Brovina has suspended the session which has not lasted more than 5 minutes.
“The candidate didn’t obtain the necessary number of votes to be elected speaker, therefore, I’m obliged to suspend the session. MPs will be informed in writing about the next session”, said Brovina.
