After talks which lasted several days, the main four political parties in FYROM reached an agreement. After a meeting at the Club of MPs, which lasted several hours, the US ambassador, Jess Baily confirmed the deal.

“We have good news to announce. Political parties reached an agreement one year after the agreement reached last July for further implementation of the Przino Agreement. We are hoping that this Agreement will pave the way for credible elections, where all sides will participate and which will be recognized by all sides”, said the US ambassador.

The document that was signed contains points which relate to the adjustment of issues such as: the improvement of voters’ lists, especially the verification of over 39 thousand contesting voters and adjustments in the media.

Among other things, part of the agreement is also the technical government, which will hold the elections. The part on the reforms also mentions the Ohrid Agreement and Euro Atlantic integration process.

Nikola Todorov of VMRO-DPMNE said that their party is happy with the agreement, which according to him, gives way to the holding of fair and democratic elections.

Radmila Sekerinska of SDSM (Macedonian Social Democratic Union) said that this agreement puts an end to the crisis and enables free elections.

PDSH representative, Imer Aliu said that his party is behind the efforts of the international community for the solution of the crisis, but this party will not be part of the new interim government which will have a mandate of 100 days.

Artan Grubi of BDI said that compromise was reached and in all likelihood, the early parliamentary elections will be held on 11 December. But everything will be decided in the meeting of 31 August between the leaders of the main four parties in the country. /
