Parliament sends the proposals for the Special Tribunal to the Constitutional Court

Parliament of Kosovo is expected to send today to the Constitutional Court the proposal for the necessary constitutional amendments that relate to the Special Tribunal.

The bill on this tribunal, which was initially drafted by the government, will be deliberated by the Constitutional Court and then, it will be proceeded to voting in parliament.

This was declared today by the speaker of Parliament, Kadri Veseli, who said that parliament wants to see first if these amendments are in line with the Constitution.

According to him, the creation of this tribunal is an engagement made last April to the European Union.

Asked if these issues will manage to see the green light by MPs, speaker of Parliament said that at the present, the process is going through a constitutional verification, while the political will have to wait a little.

Veseli said that KLA’s war was fair.

“All fighters of KLA have been fighters for freedom and everything relates to the right of KLA and Kosovo as a state. We will proceed in order for the country not to be tarnished”, he declared.

The speaker of Parliament has also commented corruption. He said that this is a phenomenon which is damaging society in Kosovo and according to him, it must be stopped as soon as possible, in order for the country to see a perspective of development. /ibna/
