Parliament of Kosovo will hold a plenary session today to review the constitutional amendments needed for the creation of the Special Tribunal.
If the constitutional amendments receive two thirds of the votes of MPs, then this will give way to the creation of the Special Tribunal, which will try the alleged crimes committed by several members of KLA during the war.
MPs of the governing coalition, PDK-LDK, except for three or four MPs from PDK, have warned that they will vote in favor of the Tribunal, in order for Kosovo to prove the allegations of former Swiss senator, Dick Marty wrong and to prove the righteousness of the war of KLA.
The coalition also says that with the voting of this tribunal, it will prove that Republic of Kosovo respects justice, partnership with its allies that recommend the creation of the Special Tribunal and it will not offer an opportunity to the UN Security Council to handle this case.
In contrast to the coalition MPs, Self Determination, AAK and Incentive MPs, have warned that they will vote against the Special Tribunal, which according to them, threatens the legislation of Kosovo, including the Constitution of Kosovo.
Serb MPs have also confirmed their vote in favor of the creation of this tribunal. Their votes are needed to make up for two thirds of MPs.
But, Serb List MPs said that they will vote in favor of the Special Tribunal, if the amendments on this tribunal are not brought as a package, along with the amendments that give way to the transformation of Kosovo Security Forces into Armed Forces of Kosovo, for which they are against. /ibna/
