Parliament ratifies the recommendations for the use of drugs in schools

Pristina, May 2, 2013-The teaching process in schools should be accompanied by immediate training in all Kosovo for the use of drugs from students. Within this year there must be investments in studies which will aim the creation of effective strategies, sensibility campaigns with students for the dangers of drugs along with the opening an institute for dependant illnesses this year. These are the recommendations voted by Parliament of Kosovo during Thursday’s sitting in the motion called by Alliance for the Future of Kosovo in relation to the use of drugs in schools.

Present in parliament have been 63 MPs, while 62 MPs have voted. There have been no votes against and no abstains.

The AFK lawmaker, Burim Ramadani said that it’s up to the Ministry of Education to deal with this issue. “This issue should be tackled by the Ministry of Education, Health and Interior, but mostly by the Ministry of Education”, said Ramadani. Ramadani added that those persons, who seek assistance to recover from drug related problems, are sent and treated in the psychiatry hospital. /ibna/
