Parliament in Albania has voted today the bill which outlaws gambling and betting. According to this new bill, online casinos and bookmakers will be closed on 31 December 2018.
The bill received 75 votes of the majority, while opposition MPs continue to boycott parliament.
The voting was preceded by a speech delivered by PM Edi Rama, who spoke about social problems and criminalization of the gambling industry.
Today’s voting puts an end to the debates of the recent weeks on whether Prime Minister Edi Rama was serious about outlawing gambling and betting in the country. /ibna/
