Mathew Palmer, US Secretary of State’s special envoy for Western Balkans, said he was in Skopje today to convey the support of the United States for North Macedonia.
Following his meeting with Foreign Minister Nikola Dimitrov he said: “It is a pleasure to be in Skopje again, to meet my friends and talk about the latest developments in the region, in Europe”.
He said he will visit Pristina, Belgrade and Athens during his Balkan tour. “I came after we ratified the Protocol for the accession of North Macedonia to NATO, and after the visit of US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo. I have come to confirm the strong US support for North Macedonia, its European path and European perspective”, stated Palmer, who later met with Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence Radmil Sekerinska and President Stevo Pendarovski./ibna
