FYR Macedonia must offer concrete incentives for the solution of the name dispute. This was the advice of the Slovenian president, Borut Pahor in today’s press conference after the meeting with his counterpart in FYROM, George Ivanov.
According to Pahor, it’s important for the accession of the country in the EU to go inline with the solution of the name dispute.
President Ivanov confirmed that during the talks with the Slovenian president, he has discussed with him as to how FYROM can take advantage of the positive experiences of Slovenia, which in comparison to Croatia showed how it can behave in a European way toward a country which is an EU candidate country.
During this meeting, both presidents said that there are open issues between FYROM and Slovenia for which cooperation can be boosted up in all domains, in particular in commerce and joint investments.
Pahor said that he has arrived in Skopje for two reasons: to intensify the secret friendship and to express the support of Slovenia in the Euro integration path of FYROM. /ibna/
