President Borut Pahor called Kolinda Grabar Kitarović on Monday to congratulate her on her victory in the presidential election, while at the same time expressing the hope that “the exemplary” neighbourly relations will also continue under the new president.
Pahor called for a close and sincere cooperation between Slovenia and Croatia, which would prove beneficial for both countries and would boost peace and security in the broader region, the president’s office wrote in a press release.
Grabar Kitarović, who just narrowly beat outgoing President Ivo Josipović, invited Pahor to her inauguration, scheduled for 18 February.
The President of Slovenia spoke with Josipović on the phone, in order to thank him for the excellent cooperation and his contribution to the strengthening of friendly relations between the two countries.
