Air pollution causes around 2100 deaths each year in Albania. The figure in question is confirmed by healthcare specialists, according to which, besides the high number of deaths, the number of people who suffer from respiratory or cardiac problems is several times higher.
“It’s a fact that Albania has a major problem with air pollution. According to the latest report of the European Environment Agency, in 2016, Albania registered 2120 deaths a year from air pollution”, said specialist Agron Deliu.
As far as this situation is concerned, specialists are demanding measures to be taken to reduce air pollution starting by better cleaning the roads and controlling the quality of fuels.
On the other hand, heads of the Ministry of Environment call on people to reduce the use of their cars.
Meanwhile, on the European Week of Movement, the Ministry of Environment has organized a sensibility activity to encourage the use of vehicles that do not pollute the air, such as bicycles. /balkaneu.com/
