Outgoing government approves the 2015 draft budget

Government of Kosovo has approved on Friday Kosovo’s 2015 draft budget. As opposed to 2014, the new budget will be 8.1% higher.

Speaking about the work of the ministry of Finance on the budget, minister Besim Beqaj said that the draft budget will enable economic growth.

“It’s a budget that addresses all the priorities of the government of Kosovo. This is a budget which holds capital investments higher and which guarantees an economic growth of 4.1%”, said Beqaj.

“We believe that now that the government has approved the budget, it will be sent to parliament based on the law and we’re expecting parliament to vote it as soon as it constituted, in order to enter well prepared in the fiscal year and calendar year 2015”, said minister Beqaj.

Meanwhile, Kosovo’s PM, Hashim Tahci said that what’s important about this draft budget is the coherence of government policies, coordination between sectors and harmonization with the most important priorities of the country.

“We are expecting 2015 and the years to come to bring economic growth in Kosovo, while in the regional context, we’re expecting the highest growth rate of 4.1%”, said Thaci.

He said that the 2015 budget will be 8.1% higher than that of 2014.

“With this budget, we are planning to continue the implementation of the projects that have already started and to implement a number of new projects”, said Thaci./ibna/
