The trial of the suspects in the OTE-Siemens scandal on Wednesday was postponed for an indefinite period because the charge sheet had not been translated into French and German.

The Three-Member Felony Appeals Court accepted the objections of foreign defendants who underlined that the non-delivery of the charge sheet in their native language, as the international law, provides for, renders it invalid.

The case, which went to court ten years ago, concerned an agreement signed between Siemens and the Hellenic Telecommunications Organisation (OTE) for the digitalisation of the Greek company’s call centres. Those facing charges in connection with the case include former Siemens and OTE executives, who stand accused of money laundering, offering and accepting bribes and acting as accomplices in the above acts.
