OSCE presence in Tirana called on Albanian political parties to start the electoral reform without wasting any time, as it should be ready before the parliamentary elections of next year.
The OSCE presence and its ambassador, Robert Wilton said that “we shared the same concern with the Central Election Commission in relation to the replacement of over 98% of commissioners in polling centers. The presence continues to suggest that political parties in Albania must take the professional management of the elections very seriously, in order for the system to be credible”, the statement says.
According to OSCE presence in Tirana, “the electoral process in Diber is a clear indicator of the need for an electoral reform, which would enable among others the depoliticization of the administration of elections and gender equality in political representation and electoral commissions”. /balkaneu.com/
