Today in FYROM, orthodox believers celebrate one of the most important religious days, that of St. Mary.
The celebrations started last night with the evening mass and holy liturgy in all the temples of the Macedonian Orthodox Church, while today, it continues with the visit of believers in churches and monasteries that hold her name.
St. Mary is considered to be a protector of all Christians and the city of Skopje.
Traditionally, the massive gathering is being held in the monastery of Lower Matka, where apart from the religious rituals, there will also be a cultural and entertaining program.
St. Mary’s Day is celebrated on the 15th day of August (28 according to the new calendar). On the occasion of this day, August 28 is a national holiday for all Orthodox believers. /ibna/
