Orthodox believers in FYR Macedonia celebrate today the birth of Christ-Christmas. Christmas masses are taking place today in all temples of the Orthodox Church in FYROM.

The main event is taking place in the Church of St. Clement of Ohrid in Skopje, where archbishop of the Macedonian Orthodox Church, Stefan, led the service.

The head of the Macedonian Orthodox Church has sent his wishes to all Orthodox believers, by calling for peace and blessing from God.

“Our strong people is closely tied to our Church. We have achieved all our civilizing values as an integral part of the church. Our holy duty is to continue in this path, but we must also show to young generations what’s the way of progress and well being”, declared archbishop Stefan.

Heads of institutions, political parties and other religious leaders have sent their wishes on this day. PM Nikola Gruevski has wished all orthodox believers on the occasion of Christmas. “Let us celebrate and pledge that we will do good deeds with clean thoughts, love, tolerance and patience. Let us celebrate this day and with the help of God, united, we will face the challenges that the future brings”, reads the message of PM Gruevski. /ibna/
