Parliament has decided today to suspend opposition’s MPs from participating in today’s plenary session.

This decision has enabled parliament’s security to stop every member of the opposition from entering parliament.

The speaker of parliament, Kadri Veseli opened this session by saying that opposition MPs are excluding themselves.

Meanwhile, Self Determination MP, Ilir Deda declared that the suspension of opposition is a violation of democracy.

“Such suspension doesn’t even take place in Russia, Venezuela or Belarus. Today’s act marks the end of Mustafa’s and Thaci’s government. The coalition between PDK and LDK makes up for the most non democratic regime installed in Kosovo in the past 16 years.

Of course, I will not participate in the proceedings without my opposition colleagues. Changes in Kosovo will come earlier than anticipated”, Deda declared.

Aida Derguti from Self Determination, considered the behavior of the Speaker of Parliament as that of a dictator. Derguti said that the opposition has no other option but hold protests.

Alliance for the Future of Kosovo issued a press statement declaring that the majority’s efforts to continue plenary sessions at any cost are a serious violation of parliamentary democracy and that this marks the installment of a police regime.

Today’s session was scheduled to start at 11 am, but it was prevented by opposition MPs who let off tear gas inside the hall. /ibna/
