Opposition leader questioned by prosecutors over car with 3.4 million euros inside of it

Opposition leader in Albania has been questioned by prosecutors today with regards to 3.4 million euros seized in a Toyta Yaris in the port of Durres a few months back. Just before the car, which had set off from Belgium, arrived in Durres, the leader of the Democratic Party, Lulzim Basha declared in parliament that he had received information about the vehicle in question, while accusing the Socialist Party whip, Taulant Balla of being the recipient of this vehicle filled with cash.

After leaving the prosecutor’s office today, Basha told reporters that he had provided more information than the information that was made public by him at the time when the car was seized.

“I provided more information than the information that was made public. Taulant Balla should have been behind bars. Edi Rama’s government has turned into the no. 1 servant for money laundering and crime. Everything being done today is being done for money laundering”, Basha said. /ibna/
