Leader of the Democratic Party, Lulzim Basha participated in the Congress of the German Chancellor Angela Merkel’s party, CDU, where he met and talked to senior officials of CDU and European People’s Party, with MEPs, Bundestag members, ministers of the government cabinet, etc.
Speaking for IBNA after the meetings, Mr. Basha said that “corruption, criminal organizations that are tied to the government, the fall of the rule of law and the ruining of the elections as the main causes of the economic, political and social crisis”, were at the center of discussions held in Karsluhe.
IBNA learned that Mr. Basha also talked on the developments in Albania, among others, with the President of European People’s Party, Joseph Daul, chairman of the German Parliament, Norbert Lammert, the head of the Foreign Committee of the European Parliament, Elmar Brok, German Interior Minister, Thomas de Maiziere, etc.
“I expressed my concerns over the serious situation that the country is going through, as a result of the fact that Edi Rama has installed a regime that violates the citizens by breaking the laws of the country and defending crime and corruption by blocking investigations on mega corruption affairs, such as the 600 million euro CEZ affair and ministers who have committed theft and have ties with crime and drug lords, among whom is minister of Interior, who is known for his ties with drug traffic”, Mr. Basha added.
The democrat leader also talked to German chancellor Angela Merkel (photo). After the meeting, he said that “Germany will support the European dream of Albanians, as it strongly support the liberalization of visas five years ago”. /ibna/
