Macedonian opposition published today other materials regarding registered conversations and the protagonists are PM Nikola Gruevski and Transport Minister, Mile Jankievski.

Zaev said that these conversations show that Gruevski has participated in favoring tenders in his interest and his entourage.

One of the conversations between Gruevski and minister Janakievski shows how the tender for the construction of the two largest highways in the country and through two projects, they would divide among them around 25 million Euros, as a commission which would be benefited by the company that would carry out the works.

In another conversation, Gruevski and Janakievski are heard planning the tender for the construction of a railway line linking Kumanovo to Beljakovce.

Leader of SDSM, Zoran Zaev said that these conversations reveal to the public opinion one of the biggest corruption affairs that the country and the region has ever seen.

According to him, the current minister, without a tender and without a decision from parliament, has held talks for a project amounting to millions of Euros for the highway linking Miladinovci and Stip and Kercova to Ohrid.

“The evaluated cost of one of the highways was 270 million Euros and this evaluation was made by the Agency for Roads. But, government heads, led by Gruevski, have decided for the cost of the highway to amount to 373 million Euros and this amount was to be announced by the construction company. The cost goes up by 103 million Euros. Gruevski’s conditions were that he would benefit an amount of 25 million Euros”, Zaev declared./ibna/
