After the warnings of the deputy Prime Minister of Kosovo, Hashim Thaci that the protest of the opposition warned for April 18 will be violent, the leader of Self Determination, Visar Ymeri has reacted.

Ymeri considered Thaci’s declarations as “threatening” and said that they indicate “the government’s plan to suppress peaceful protests”.

“With his threatening declaration, deputy PM Thaci showed the government’s plan to suppress peaceful protests”, Ymeri declared.

During the government meeting, Thaci said that the opposition’s protest on Saturday will in all likeliness be violent.

“I’d like to stress that the warning for a violent protest is the worst message for the political, institutional and Euro Atlantic reality of Kosovo”, Thaci said. He said that such warnings do not serve Kosovo at all.

Meanwhile, Ymeri says that the only warning for protests is coming from the government.

“This indicates government’s plans and not the plans of the opposition parties”, Ymeri said. However, he said that protests will be peaceful.

In his declaration, Ymeri said that the opposition demands the abrogation of the decision to increase the price of power price, the announcement of Trepce as a public enterprise with a special status, the discharge of Hajredin Kuci and Enver Hasani, the discharge of RTK’s management and the suspension of the creation of the Association of the Serb Majority Communes.

He demanded from the government of Kosovo to distance itself from such declarations issued by deputy PM Thaci. /ibna/
