Lead in popularity of political leaders, but also to the question of suitability for the premiership, records the president of main opposition party New Democracy, Kyriakos Mitsotakis, in the monthly political barometer of the Public Issue, published in the daily “Avgi”.
Regarding popularity, one can observe that there has been a drop in the rates of all political leaders, except Stavros Theodorakis, with the largest drop being recorded in the rates of prime minister, Alexis Tsipras, and the president of ANEL and Defence Minister, Panos Kammenos.
On the top of the positive opinions is Kyriakos Mitsotakis with 44%, followed by Vasilis Leventis of the Union of Centrists in second place.
To the question for the most suitable prime minister, the leader of the main opposition party comes first with 38%, followed by the answer “none of them” with 35%, with the Prime Minister in third place with 24%.
Very negative are the estimates and expectations of citizens, as 75% of respondents expect the economic situation to worsen in the next 12 months, while there is a dramatic drop from November 2015 to those who believe that things would become worse if the country returned to its national currency (30% from 21% in November).
At the same time, there is an evident public concern regarding the safety of their deposits, with 72% feeling that they are “not so much or not at all guaranteed”.
