After 40 years, in Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, a mine is being opened for the first time. The searches carried out by the company “Sardic MC” discovered reserves of  33 million tons of minerals in Kazandol, at eastern city of Valandovo. The mine excavation has already started in Kazandol, based on an English investment of 35 million Euros. This investment is expected to bring an income of 20 million Euros per year for the first seven years. Bosko Serbinovksi, the director of Sardic MC says that 20 years of mineral reserves have been already confirmed. The mine capacity is 4 000 tons. According to him, modern eco friendly technology will be employed by Finnish “Autotek” company. The company is also searching in the vicinity of Staro Nagoricane in Kumanova. The initial data show the presence of copper, gold and silver depositions./balkaneu.com/
